“Sweet Adelines
International is a world wide organisation of women singers committed to
advancing the musical art-form of barbershop harmony through education and
performance.”
Murrumbidgee Magic is part of Sweet Adelines International. This wonderful
organisation encourages barbershop harmony singing by providing education
and competition opportunities. While it all started back in the 1930s,
today's modern barbershop harmony has little resemblance to the ‘old days’.
Members receive the ‘Pitch Pipe’ magazine each quarter and are eligible to
enter the annual Australian National competition along with education
classes/coaching sessions etc. There are approximately 28,000 Sweet
Adelines worldwide and over 1000 in Australia who are enjoying
this great hobby!
