Quartets

Over the years we have had a number of great quartets in Murrumbidgee Magic (or the previously named Wagga Wagga Harmony Chorus) that we've been very proud of. Currently our director Jill Harris is a member of a medal winning quartet called Andiamo.

Andiamo quartet formed in August 2008. Andiamo means "lets go" in Italian, and for these women, that involves lots of driving as they live between 3 and 5 hours from each other.

Jill Harris (tenor) is the musical director of the Murrumbidgee Magic Chorus in Wagga Wagga. Tracey Cam (lead) is the musical director of the Bathurst Panorama Chorus in Bathurst. Lea Baker (baritone) is the musical director of the Endeavour Harmony Chorus in Sydney.

Having three directors in a quartet comes with its own challenges. Luckily Pia Wikstrom (bass), the only non-director, just goes with the flow and occasionally throws in a response such as "EN VALITA" which means "WHATEVER!" in Finnish.

Andiamo was thrilled to place 2nd in the 2011 national competition in Newcastle, NSW. They placed 3rd in their first ever national competition appearance, held in May 2009 in Hobart, Tasmania and 4th in 2010 in Mandurah, WA.
